Drive Through a Real Texas Safari

The Texas Zoofari Park is fun for the entire family!

Roll down your window and enter a safari unlike anything else in Texas.

At the Texas Zoofari Park in Kaufman, just a short drive from Dallas, you’ll travel six miles through open pastures where animals roam freely across wide Texas landscapes. As you wind along the safari trail, herds of antelope race across the fields while curious zebras and towering Watusi approach your vehicle for a snack.

Take your time along the maintained gravel road—this is their home, and you’re the visitor. It’s not unusual for animals to stroll across your path or even settle down in the middle of the road, so be ready to stop and enjoy the moment.

Because our animals live in natural social groups and are allowed to behave instinctively, every drive through the safari is a little different. You might see males competing for attention, mothers caring for their young, or—if you’re especially lucky—witness the first wobbly steps of a newborn.

One of the most unforgettable parts of the safari is feeding the animals right from your vehicle.

Before entering the drive-thru, be sure to pick up a few Safari Feed buckets filled with our specialty grain mix. As you make your way along the trail, extend your feed bucket fully outside your window and watch as bison, deer, emu, the friendliest llamas in Texas, and more stroll over for a snack.

Don’t worry if you run low—we have a convenient feed kiosk located at the 1 mile marker so you can refill and keep the adventure going!

Many guests choose to drive through the safari more than once so everyone in their group has a chance to feed the animals and enjoy a memorable close-up encounter.
